There’s more to it than building houses – although we do a lot of that too.
We provide a wide range of property and asset management services – from market rent and affordable housing, to student and leasehold management.
We design, build and manage large-scale regeneration projects. We build a wide range of homes, to rent and buy. We also build and look after specialist accommodation for students and older people.
We provide care and support for people in the most difficult circumstances, including people with support needs, victims of domestic abuse and people battling homelessness.
As well as our work in housing, we also build and manage leisure facilities and deliver health and wellbeing programmes. And we also offer innovative financial products, so that even people who have been turned down by traditional banks can have financial security.
In short, we do whatever it takes to make places work for all.
Our vision is to create places that work for everyone.
We make places that last. People change and places change, but we care about long-term sustainability. We know that great placemaking doesn’t happen over night, it takes planning and commitment and an understanding of the long view. We’re working for this generation and for generations to come.
We build homes and communities where everyone is welcome and everyone can thrive. So whatever your budget, and whether you’re single, a couple, a family or a group of friends, we’ll help you find the home that’s right for you. Everyone has different needs, tastes and aspirations. That’s why we offer lots of choice and different ways to buy a home.
We work with the private and public sectors. The money we make is reinvested into our work and communities. Some people call it ‘taking a commercial approach to social outcomes’. We call it an effective way to create sustainable communities.
As the housing market changes, our mission will always be the same: to create places that work for everyone. Whatever the future brings, we will continue to innovate and evolve, ensuring our placemaking is the best it can be.
Places for People is made up of more than 20 specialist companies. Each plays an important part in helping us achieve our vision.
The board currently comprises the Group Chairman, seven other non-executive directors and five executive directors.
