The brand new £15m environmentally friendly Hinckley Leisure Centre is due to open Spring this year.
Places for People Leisure was awarded the 20 year contract to design, build, operate and maintain the new Hinckley Leisure Centre, on behalf of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council in February 2014. Construction work is now nearing completion and the state of the art facility is due to open, on budget, in May this year.
The three storey centre has been purposely designed to be sympathetic to its parkland setting in Argents Mead, incorporating natural materials, a green roof and a café which opens onto the surrounding park area.
The new facility will transform the leisure offering at the previous Hinckley Leisure Centre and will now provide the local community with additional time for aquatic classes, larger swimming pools which will make swimming more accessible, an increase in the number of group exercise classes as well as a gym which includes top of the range fitness equipment and a stunning view overlooking the natural parkland setting.
The state of the art facility will also feature a 100+ station fitness suite, 25m 8 lane main pool, 15m teaching pool (both pools with moveable floors), splash pad for toddlers, 8 court sports hall, a triple storey adventure play unit, group cycling studio, 2 further studios, meeting room and a poolside sauna and steam room.
