The Places for People Developments team has won the Excellence in Development for Affordable Housing award at the prestigious CIH Scotland Excellence Awards.

The award recognises the transformation of an area in south-west Edinburgh which had lain derelict for over 20 years into a high quality, contemporary designed housing development. The £19 million development, constructed by Lovell, comprises of 183 one, two and three bed homes, bringing much needed affordable housing to the city.

Harvesters Way's communal courtyards create a sense of community and place where residents can meet and enjoy the outdoor space. The development also has an innovative centralised heating system, which is not only more energy efficient and environmentally friendly, but keeps heating costs down for residents.
