We were delighted to sponsor the British Citizen Awards again this year, which recognise exceptional individuals who work tirelessly and selflessly to make a positive impact on society.

Launched in January 2015, the awards are open to every citizen across the country to say thank you to ordinary people whose achievements may otherwise have gone unrecognised.

A total of 36 medallists were honoured at a ceremony held at the Palace of Westminster.

Recipients are recognised as having made a difference to others by undertaking various activities such as volunteering, charity work, and helping the local community.

As a founding sponsor of the awards, Places for People Group Executive Director, Pat Egan, attended and presented five winners with their Medals of Honour, alongside TV presenter, Matt Allwright.

Truly inspirational people

Pat Egan, Group Executive Director for Places for People said,

"Places for People are proud to support the British Citizen Awards. This fantastic event allows us to recognise the extraordinary contributions made by some truly inspirational people. I was delighted to present the medallists with their awards in recognition of their dedication and commitment to improving the lives of others in their communities. They thoroughly deserve this accolade."
