We welcomed Housing Minister Kit Malthouse to our flagship development in Brooklands.
The Minister visited the site in Milton Keynes as part of a tour of housing developments in the Milton Keynes/Oxford/Cambridge corridor.
After meeting with Milton Keynes Council at Brooklands’ new medical centre, facilitated by Places for People, the Minister toured the adjacent housing development with Places for People’s Director of Assets and Origination, Tim Weightman, and Head of Development, Ben Ruston, along with our partners, Barratt Homes, represented by Managing Director (Northampton), Andrew Swindell, and Technical Project Manager, Adam Quayle.
In a Tweet, he praised the “ambitious partnership” between Places for People and Barratt Homes.
Brooklands is a £500 million development where 2,500 new mixed-tenure homes will be delivered, as well as three new schools, a hotel, commercial space, 90 acres of parkland, along with new infrastructure and community facilities.
Brooklands was also featured in a new three-part programme produced by ITN Productions and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) which examines solutions to the UK’s housing crisis. The film sees Places for People Group Chief Executive David Cowans talking about our approach to placemaking and the importance of building attractive places where people want to live, with the surrounding infrastructure people need.
