Places for People has partnered with ModularWise in an exciting business venture to deliver the company’s first in-house modular homes at Marlborough Park in Swindon.
Following our investment in ModularWise 12 months ago, we now have our first fully operational modular production line where houses are constructed off-site in a factory environment using the latest engineering technology. Once each module or room has been constructed, the components are transferred to the site for installation.
The homes at Marlborough Park are moving at pace with ten modular homes already built and plans to deliver a total of 91 properties over the next 12 months. Designed with families in mind, the mix of two and three bed, two-storey homes offer spacious bedrooms and open plan living on the ground floor creating excellent family and entertaining spaces.
The scheme has proved to be extremely popular amongst buyers with 18 homes reserved off plan out of an initial 22 houses which have been released for sale.
Colin Rae, Group Executive Development Director for Places for People said,
“We are excited to be working with ModularWise to deliver this project. As an organisation continually looking to raise the standards of home building, this flexible method of construction offers faster installation and improved quality control over the whole build process, whilst maintaining the highest standard of design internally and externally. Our pipeline with Modularwise includes two schemes in Edinburgh comprising multi-storey flats, and a 73 unit social housing scheme with Blackburn Council.
At the recent Offsite Construction Awards held in March, ModularWise was highly commended in the category Best Use of Volumetric Construction for the Marlborough Park development.
