We were proud to sponsor the British Citizen Awards again this year which recognise exceptional individuals who work tirelessly and selflessly to make a positive impact on society.

The awards are presented twice annually and recognise people whose achievements may otherwise be overlooked.

Thirty five medallists who have undertaken a variety of activities in support of worthy causes were honoured at the prestigious ceremony held at the Palace of Westminster in London on Thursday 4 July.

Amazing contribution

Pat Egan, Group Executive Director of Affordable Housing for Places for People attended the awards to present five of the recipients with their medals, which were inscribed with the words ‘For the Good of the Country’.

Speaking about the event he said, “The British Citizen Awards shine a spotlight on the tremendous work of everyday people for the benefit of their communities, and it’s a privilege to have been a supporter since its formation in 2015.

“The commitment and selflessness shown by medallists this year has been exceptional.”

The event was hosted by TV star Matt Allwright, who stated, "I’m so delighted to be helping out at the awards. It’s a really great opportunity to remind ourselves of the amazing contribution people make, and recognise the good things going on in our society."
