Customers from across England and Scotland were recognised as “Good Neighbours” at our annual Good Neighbour Awards.
Now in its ninth year, the Good Neighbour Awards recognise residents who put people first, celebrating the commitment and positive impact they have on their local communities.
This year, there were 170 nominations, with awards presented to 47 residents for activities such as dog walking, gardening and running community initiatives.
Janet Hennessy, who was recognised at this year’s awards, comments: “I’m truly touched that my neighbours have nominated me for this award. I love the community we live in and I’m always trying to lend a helping hand where possible, just like many of my neighbours. I feel very humbled and grateful for this award.”
Another winner, Moira McMenamin, commented: “Helping others is a simple task which we all do in our neighbourhood. To be recognised for my efforts is a huge compliment and I feel very grateful.”
Presenting the winners with their awards, Pat Egan, our Group Executive Director of Affordable Housing, commented: “The Good Neighbour Awards allow us to celebrate and say thank you to the brilliant people contributing to our neighbourhoods. I am delighted to host the awards and believe all of the nominees put forward are truly inspirational. These people have gone above and beyond to make a difference to neighbourhoods by providing support and assistance to their neighbours.”
