We were proud sponsors of the British Citizen Awards once again in January, which recognise exceptional individuals who positively impact their communities throughout the country.
Now in its fifth year, 31 medallists were honoured at the prestigious ceremony held at the Palace of Westminster in London.
Open to every citizen and presented twice annually, recipients are recognised for the difference they make to others through activities such as volunteering, charity work, and supporting the local community.
Wendy Pretten, Managing Director of Places for People Homes attended the awards for the first time to present five recipients with their medals.
Speaking about the event she said, “The British Citizen Awards shine a spotlight on those inspirational people who are committed to making a difference and improving the lives of others, and it is a privilege for Places for People to have been a supporter since its formation in 2015.
I was honoured to present the awards and humbled by the amazing contribution of these individuals. Their efforts are truly admirable and they thoroughly deserve this recognition.”
The event was hosted by TV presenter Michael Underwood who, together with Dame Mary Perkins, co-founder of Specsavers, is a patron of the British Citizen Awards.
