Hi, I’m Cameron, and I’ve really enjoyed the start of my career at Places for People.

I joined the programme because I’m very interested in construction and architecture, and also delivering benefit to society, so when I saw a role at a business combining them all, I had to make it mine! Additionally, I want to be working somewhere that values career progression and development as a professional. The Emerging Talent programme offers a bespoke learning opportunity which will help me achieve my professional objectives, this was definitely a driving factor for my application.

Starting remotely has been strange. Of course, not being able to meet people face-to-face makes the introduction to a new role difficult, however, the induction week really helped our cohort bond during these bizarre times. So far, I’ve been working on a variety of projects across the group. The diversity of work so early on is really exciting, and future projects are looking very inviting. In fact, one piece of work has been collecting and creating these Emerging Talent profiles! I’m keen to work with such a diverse group of individuals to complete our CEO cohort project of trying to get more young adults on to the housing ladder . This is undoubtedly a unique aspect of the scheme and a great learning opportunity.

  • I graduated from Lancaster University with a BSc (Hons): Business Studies
  • I’ve played in 10+ different football teams and have won over 40 trophies!
