Apprenticeships

A place to learn and grow

Apprenticeships aren’t what they used to be; no longer just for pupils fresh out of school, apprenticeships are a great route for anyone willing to learn – no matter what their experience, or the level they’re at in their career.

At the Places for People Group, we encourage learning across the career spectrum; it gives our colleagues the opportunity to develop and transcend their current role, preparing them for taking on positions of greater responsibility and possibly progressing to a new sector within the Group.

We’re open to supporting all of our apprentices as they learn – the more you improve, the more our customers benefit. And, we offer all the necessary backing; from financial support through to pastoral care as you undertake more work and study.

“Use the supporting statement option when applying for an apprentice role. Your CV is great for the basics, but it’s static and we want to hear all about you – and crucially, your appetite to learn.”

A view from the team

"Take my word for it. I’m in a dream position in my career right now. I work for a fantastic organisation alongside wonderful people each and every day, but not only that, I’m getting paid to further my career.

Each week I’m given time away from Places for People to attend college and undertake my CIPD HR qualification. When I complete it in June, I’ll be moving over to our People Services team, managing HR issues and payroll – something colleagues are already giving me a taster of.

I’m already world’s away from where I was a year ago – at which time I was working in retail. Back then I worried about making the jump – my own misinformed perceptions of apprentices made me apprehensive. I couldn't have been more wrong though and I’ve learnt so much already – bring on the future!”
