At Places for People, we are passionate about putting people first and involving our Customers at every opportunity. We have established a Customer involvement model that ensures your voice is at the heart of our decision-making.
Whether you want to focus on local issues in your Community or strategic priorities at a national level, there is a group for you:
Regional Customer Group
The Regional Customer Group (RCG) brings together local Customers to discuss what’s working, what isn't, and what matters most in your specific area.
Your role and impact
- Represent your Community: Act as an ambassador for your local area on national issues like fire safety and service standards.
- Drive improvements: Work collaboratively as a "critical friend" to help us understand what life is really like for Customers and advocate for inclusive solutions.
- Support engagement: Lead constructive debates, raise group concerns professionally, and support local scrutiny reviews and engagement activities.
- Direct link to Board: You will work closely with the National Customer Group (NCG), providing a direct link to the PfP Board.
Your growth
By joining the RCG, you can build your confidence and develop transferable new skills, gaining experience in formal committee work and high-level service reviews.
National Customer Group
The National Customer Group (NCG) has a strategic overview of the critical issues, policies, and priorities affecting Customers across all affordable housing.
Your role and impact
- National representation: The Group represents the Customer's voice at the highest level, working directly with the Places for People Regulated Board.
- Strategic influence: Members ensure a Customer voice is present on key service issues and strategic priorities, offering recommendations for improvements and highlighting best practices.
- Accountability: You will monitor service improvements and work with PfP Colleagues to check that services meet both Customer and business priorities.
- Bridging local and national: The NCG ensures two-way communication between local groups (like the RCGs) and the Board. Notably, the Chair of each RCG also sits on the NCG to ensure every region is represented nationally.
Member qualities
We look for members who can think strategically about policies and procedures, communicate in a constructive and positive manner, and remain objective when reviewing performance.
