Fusion 8: A new space for the Harehills Community

Fusion 8 Harehills

We’re proud to share that a once-empty building in the heart of Harehills has been brought back to life as Fusion 8 - a welcoming new hub created with and for the local Community.

This is more than just a space. It’s somewhere local families can feel supported, meet with people they know and trust, and access practical help when they need it most. Inside, there’s a school uniform exchange point, a food and hygiene bank, and even a new Community garden - all designed to make life a little easier and bring people closer together.

Built on partnerships, powered by people

The idea for Fusion 8 grew from conversations with West Yorkshire Police about how we could work together to make a real difference in Harehills. We shared a vision of a place that could offer both support and connection, while helping to build trust and resilience in the area.

Over the past months, Colleagues, partners, contractors and volunteers have transformed the building, contributing time, skills and resources. From fireproofing works and free Wi-Fi, to a donated kitchen and a mural created with local schoolchildren, every element has been shaped by generosity and collaboration.

“A space that belongs to everyone”

As our Market President for West Yorkshire, Judy Hardy, said at the opening:

“This hub is a testament to what can be achieved when Communities, public services and partners come together. It’s about meeting real needs, building trust and creating a space that belongs to everyone.”

Looking ahead

Fusion 8 is now open and ready to welcome everyone - whether it’s to pick up a uniform, meet a local police officer for a chat, get advice from housing teams, or simply connect with others.

We believe thriving Communities are built on strong relationships, shared spaces and the belief that we are better when we work together. Fusion 8 is proof of that – and we can’t wait to see the difference it will make in Harehills for years to come.
