Hays Community Hub is an accessible community hub hosting a variety of services.

Location: 4 Hay Avenue, Craigmillar, EDINBURGH, EH16 4AQ

The Hub has a range of events:

Monday 

Community Walk 10am-11.30am  

Join our Community Walking Group from Hays Community Hub. Open to all ages and fitness levels, this community-led group is a great way to enjoy gentle exercise, fresh air, and meet new people. No booking needed — just come along! 

ESOL Classes 10am-2.30pm 

These ESOL classes, run by Edinburgh Council CLD tutors, offer a supportive environment to improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Closed groups provide focused, tailored learning. To register: ESOL@ea.edin.sch.uk 

Cosy Knitters 1.30pm-3.30pm

Community led, multigenerational, weekly knitting group. Open to all abilities. Tutoring is provided . No need to book just come along. 

Edinburgh Parkinsons Social Cafe 3pm - 5pm

Drop in cafe for Parkinsons community. Last Monday of every month.

Edinburgh College ESOL Classes 9am-12pm

Edinburgh College is one of the largest year-round providers of English Language courses in Scotland. All College-based ESOL classes are accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK.

Our ESOL courses are for people who speak English as a second language and are living in the UK on a permanent or long-term basis. This course is designed to help you improve your English and your confidence, so you can go on to further training or enter employment. You will develop your study skills and work in pairs or groups in class.

Stitch 'N stuff closed group 10am-1pm 

Tai Chi Class 1.30pm-3pm 

Tai Chi is an ancient practice that combines slow, flowing movements with deep breathing and mindfulness. It helps improve balance, flexibility, posture, and coordination while reducing stress and promoting overall wellbeing.

Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, our free Tai Chi is a great way to stay active, improve mental focus, and connect with others in the community in a calm and supportive environment. To register email reception@thistle.org.uk

Wednesday 

Wee Blether 10am-12pm 

The Wee Blether Group is a welcoming, community-led peer support group that brings local people together in a friendly and inclusive environment. It provides an opportunity to meet new people, build friendships, and connect with others in the community.

Through regular get-togethers, members can enjoy a relaxed chat, share experiences, and find out what is happening locally, including community events, services and activities. The group also offers opportunities to take part in arts and crafts, creative projects, and other informal activities that encourage social connection, confidence, and wellbeing.

Whether you are looking to make new friends, reduce social isolation, learn about opportunities in your area or simply enjoy a cuppa and a conversation, the Wee Blether Group offers a supportive space where everyone is welcome.

Hays Community Pantry 11am-2pm 

Food at affordable prices, customers can get around £20 worth of food for £5.
