Secured loans and coronavirus support

Published on 06 May 2021

We are proactively monitoring the latest Government advice and guidance from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and can assure you that we will continue to do all that we can to help protect you during this ongoing period of uncertainty.

As your equity loan / mortgage provider, we are committed to helping prevent you from falling into unnecessary debt and we will continue to support you throughout this difficult time.

In March 2020, the Government announced UK homeowners suffering financial loss due to the Coronavirus Pandemic could defer their Loan payments for up to three months, this was subsequently extended to up to six months.   The FCA published guidance to firms on how to deal with for borrowers experiencing payment difficulties due to Coronavirus.  Payment deferrals, where a customer is able to temporarily make reduced payments, or defer payments altogether, were available under the FCA’s guidance before 31 March 2021.

After 31 March 2021, only customers wishing to extend existing deferred payment arrangements may apply to extend deferred payments for consecutive payments, subject to the overall maximum of 6 months.

Payment deferrals due to difficulties around Coronavirus will stop on 31st July 2021, even if customers haven’t deferred payments for the maximum six months period.
